Kyiv Ukraine

Luxury retail

Compressed 3-Month Execution Period (Delivered during COVID-19 pandemic)

SCOPE

Full-cycle management of the flagship expansion and comprehensive refurbishment of the Bvlgari boutique in Kyiv's premier luxury shopping destination, Mandarin Plaza. Executed under an aggressive 3-month timeline during the COVID-19 pandemic, the project required launching a fully functional temporary store to maintain uninterrupted business operations, navigating severe vendor drawing gaps, and engineering cost-effective facade alternatives without compromising Bvlgari’s global brand identity.

MY ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Senior Project Manager / Delivery Lead (Owner’s Representative)

KEY CHALLENGES

Site Management under Pandemic Restrictions: Oversaw 24/7 site operations during COVID-19 workforce disruptions, carefully balancing daytime low-noise tasks with heavy night construction inside an operating shopping mall.

DELIVERY APPROACH

Value-Add Engineering: Sourcing, testing, and replacing the original brass facade design with a high-end powder-coated aluminum system—cutting lead times by months and reducing material costs by 80%.

OUTCOME

Zero Revenue Interruption: Successfully designed and launched a fully operational temporary boutique, allowing continuous retail operations and sales throughout the entire 3-month flagship transformation. On-Time Project Delivery: Completed the full boutique expansion and refurbishment strictly within the compressed 3-month timeframe, despite COVID-19 pandemic restrictions and workforce disruptions. 80% Cost Reduction on Facade & Lead-Time Optimization: Delivered a high-value alternative facade solution using powder-coated aluminum instead of brass, cutting component costs by 80% and saving several months in material lead times while maintaining Bvlgari’s luxury aesthetic. Flawless Technical Execution: Resolved critical global vendor drawing gaps on-site, providing structural integration detailing that passed all HQ audits and brand compliance reviews on the first attempt.
